THREE BODIES IN YOGIC SCIENCE

THREE BODIES IN YOGIC SCIENCE:-
BODY, MIND AND SOUL

In modern science human body is seen as a single entity. We all have basic knowledge of our body. It comprises of brain, heart, digestive system, respiratory systems and so on. This is the basic form of knowledge that we acquire through our school subjects like biology.

But in yogic system the human body is described in completely different form. Yogic system says that our body is categorised in three aspects.
These are physical body, subtle body and causal body.

(A) Physical Body- Sthula Sharir

Physical body is made up of cells and tissues. It consists of all the organs such as brain heart lungs etc. It is the one which we can see. In yogic science it is also known as Sthula sharir. It is made of five elements. These elements are known as Panch tatva. These are Aakash ( vacuum), Agni ( fire), Jal( water), Prithvi( Earth) and vayu ( air).

From birth till death, it is the accumulation of these five elements. At death the physical body gets dismantled by decay or by burning and its five constituents are dissolved back to environment. Body is also described in five kosha( annamaya kosha, pranmaya kosha, manomaya kosha, vignanamaya kosha and anandmaya kosha). The Annamaya kosh reside in Sthula Sharir.

(B) Subtle Body- Sukshma Sharir

Subtle body or Sukshma Sharir is the one where mind resides. It is also known as Astral body and vibrational body. It is composed of vital energy system which is channelized in whole Sthula Sharir through nadies. There are around 72000 channels for movement of this vital energy. These channels are known as nadies. The next three kosha or sheath resides in this body. These are pranmaya kosha, manomaya kosha and vignanamaya kosha.

The information and the Impressions which we gather from external world are stored in this body. It has the characteristics of thinking, feeling and understanding. In modern world, we more emphasize on our physical body/ muscle body. However, physical body is very weak as compared to subtle body. Yogic science believe in re-incarnation and subtle body is responsible factor for it.

(C) Causal Body - Karana Sharir

This is the third body in yogic system which is known as causal body or Karana Sharir. This body will decide about the rebirth or Moksh of the individual. The casual body contains anandmaya kosha. Casual body carries the information and knowledge accumulated during the previous births. This casual body is responsible for the the growth of physical and subtle bodies in the next birth.

Yogic science teaches the role of all the three bodies in transforming self towards Moksha.  As per the Patanjali Yog Sutra, Yogi utilise ashtang Yog to align all the three bodies to attain Samadhi, 'the ultimate bliss'. Karana Sharir is a gateway to the higher consciousness.

Summary

All the three bodies play important role for a Yogi to attend ultimate bliss. In the absence of any one of these bodies, lifewill cease to exist. If any one of these is removed the whole system will collapse. That's the precise science given by the ancient sages of India. Please comment in comment box, is this information helped you?
