Seven chakra- The power house of our body

 In our body there are hundred fourteen energy points which are broadly classified as seven chakras. Chakra means wheel in english language. They are situated at the axis of Sushumna Nadi at the spine of our body. These Chakras act like power bank or energy station in the body. The amount of energy flowing from these Chakra will determine the personality, behaviour, mental and spiritual abilities to live a peaceful and meaningful life. Chakra need to be balanced and minimum amount of energy should be flowing through them for day to day activities. These can be completely activated by Kundalini yoga


From various chakra, a certain amount of energy is flowing. However, most of the chakrs remains dormant or very less amount of energy is flowing. Chakra which is more balanced and active, releases more energy . Various types of physical and mental ailment can be cured by balancing or activating the related chakra.



There are about 114 energy points or power bank situated in the body.  These are broadly classified as seven Chakra. These are muladhar chakra, svadhistana chakra, manipura chakra, anahat chakra, vishuddha chakra, ajna chakra and the seventh one is situated above the head in the space called Sahasrara chakra. We will discuss all the Chakras one by one below. 

Muladhar Chakra

  • It is situated at the base of the spine of human body. 
  • It is represented with a red lotus of four petals. 
  • Organs which are related to this chakra are lower part of the spine, legs, knees and body joints.

Benefits of activating Muladhar Chakra

The person whose muladhara chakra is active following can be observed:-

  • A stable mindset with balanced thought process.

Effects of inactive Muladhara Chakra

The person may face following effects due to dormant muladhar chakra:-

Svadhisthana Chakra

  • It the second chakra situated at about two inch below the navel.
  • It is represented by six petal orange colour lotus.
  • Organs which are related to this chakra are sexual organs, liver, kidney, pancreas and central part of the spine.

The person whose svadhistana chakra is active following can be observed:-
  • Full of self-confidence.

Effects of inactive Svadhisthana Chakra

The person may face following effects due to dormant svadhistana chakra
  • Suffers problems related to sexual organs.
  • He may have weak sexual power.
  • Low sperm count.
  • Problem related to excretion or urine and stool.
  • He may lack self confidence and harmony.
  • Feeling of self hatred arises due to stress, anxiety and weakness.

Manipura Chakra 

  • It is situated two inch above the navel.
  • It is represented by yellow colour Lotus having ten petals.
  • Organs which are related to this chakra are stomach, bladder, middle part of the spine, kidney and small intestine.

Effects of inactive Manipura Chakra

Anahat Chakra

  • It is the fourth chakra which is situated in chest near heart.
  • It is represented by a green Lotus of twelve petals.
  • Organs which are related to this chakra are heart, lungs, circulation system, shoulders and hands.

Vishuddha Chakra

  • It is represented by blue color Lotus of sixteen petals.
  • It is situated at throat area.
  • Organs which are related to this chakra are tongue, throat, mouth, thyroid glands, teeths etc.

The person whose vishuddha chakra is active following can be observed:

Ajna Chakra

  • It is situated at forehead between the eyes.
  • It is represented by blue colour Lotus of hundred petals.
  • All sensory organs are related to this chakra i.e. eye, nose, ear, mind and brain.

The person whose ajna (agya) chakra is active following can be observed:

Effects of inactive Ajna Chakra

The person may face following effects due to dormant ajna chakra:-

  • Brain related issues.
  • Mental disorders.
  • Death related dreams and not able to sleep properly.
  • Loss of hearing and sight.
  • Migraine and headaches. 


Sahasrara Chakra

  • It is situated just above the head in the space.
  • Situated just above the brahmrandra.
  • It is represented by a Lotus of thousand petals.
  • This chakra is not situated in body.

When this chakra is activated, the person lives a complete blissful state. He has connection with cosmic power of the universe. In yogic system, yogis strives for this dimension of living. This chakra is achieved when individual explores his Anandmaya Kosha


Summary

These chakra are activated by performing kundalini yoga. Kundalini yoga is most potent form of yoga, yet very dangerous. One should not perform it based on the information gathered from social media and other internet platforms. It should be performed under strict guidance and supervision of expert.
